BACK TO HOME
For most people, April Fool's Day comes and goes just like any other day. But for a select few, the day marks the culmination of a year worth of planning and research. Now, if you find yourself in the former category of people, you inevitably leave yourself open as a likely "target" for merry pranksters. So, if you're trying to not be the victim for once, take some time to brush up on our April Fool's Day Manifesto, where we give you all the ideas and resources you'll need to pull off some seriously funny pranks.

Non-Prank Prank

We'll start this list off with a more cerebral gag for you seasoned pranksters. Now you'll need a few days lead up time but, trust me, it's worth it. Start by subtly hinting to your victim that April Fool's Day is coming up. As each day passes and you get closer to April 1st, gradually increase the threats and warnings of some impending "prank" that you've "planned" to inflict upon the victim. Leave notes, Facebook messages and generally strike fear into their heart. Then on April Fool's Day simply do nothing. You'll get a great reaction every time you approach your "victim".

Reverse Prank

The revese prank is when you essenitially prank everyone around you by shocking them with your own (fabricated) action or statement. For instance, put some vanilla pudding into a jar of mayo and plant it in the office fridge. Then, during lunch time, uncap the jar and just start eating the pudding in front of everyone, proclaiming you prefer mayo "straight-up". This will, no doubt, gross out the entire office and you will win April Fool's Day (yes, there are winners).

Props: To Use or Not to Use

Props can be a good source of comedic material but you have to be careful that you don't get type casted as your office's Carrot Top or Gallagher. Stick to non-traditional props (mock spilled cups, scars, fake limbs) and avoid the typical mainstays of April Fool's Day like fake poop (always funny, but uninspired), and fake vomit.

Cellophane Toilet Seat

This one is best played on a good-spirited family member or friend-just make sure it's someone who won't want to physically harm you afterwards. The idea is simply, take some clear cellophane and stretch it over the victim's toilet seat after they've gone to bed. When they wake up and embark on their morning "ritual" they'll get a nasty splash-back. That's when you pop-in and scream "April Fool's".

Invisible Alarm Clock

Here's an easy one. Set an alarm clock for 12:01 AM on April 1st and plant it in your friend or loved one's room. But be sure to hide it so that it will take them at least a couple minutes for them to find it. This prank works great if you're trying to get one over on someone who pranked you last year and thought they were the April Fool's Master. If you've done everything correctly, you should get a response similar to this.

Jello Office Supplies

This one is a classic that was immortalized on The Office (along with a few others on this list). First, start by selecting an item your co-worker or friend uses often (cellphone, calculator, mouse) but make sure it isn't too expensive in case he or she makes you pay for it later. Then, simply place the object into a pand of Jello overnight and place it where you found it. Also, add some fruit slices for presentation and make it mint green Jello so that the person doesn't enjoy eating it.
