BACK TO HOME
If you're gunning for a seat at a bar where they have the game volume off and the bad music at an unreasonable level, you obviously haven't read our list. Here are our handpicked favorites for pre-game, post-game and those 60 valuable minutes of game time standing between your (second favorite?) team and a playoff run.

Chickie's & Pete's
Having recently secured ESPN's Best Sports Bar in North America title, this South Philly mainstay is as synonymous with sports as it is with the infamous (and decidedly hard-to-resist) Crab Fries. Get there early to bask in the fan-to-fan camaraderie (and to get a seat) then stay late for some deliciously messy crab legs.

PLAY2
The city's only interactive sports bar, PLAY2 gives you and your friends an option for private seating (and console gaming) with your own personal 52-inch HDTV. You get an unobstructed view of the game and something (video games) to keep you occupied during pre-game, halftime and post-game. Or during the entire game, if you're not a football fan.

Fox & Hound
The Fox certainly knows how to keep you sated and happy throughout the game. Settle in at the bar or a table (there's honestly not one bad seat in the house) and stay for the $3.50 Bud and Bud Light drafts, $4.50 Hoegaarden biggies and $16.50 Bud and Bud Light buckets till midnight.

Cavanaugh's Rittenhouse
Tucked away on the corner of 18th and Sansom, this spot is perfect for escaping Sunday's sub-zero temps whilst in close quarters with 100 of your closest friends. Catch the game on the screens behind the bar and order up a few $3 Bud Light drafts to elevate your mood (they're losing) or level your excitement (they're winning).

Smith's Restaurant + Lounge
From the outside, Smith's looks like a late-20's early-30's urbanite hang out with expensive drinks and a lack of sports-related fandom. Once inside, you realize while the first part is true (the crowd skews a bit more spectator chic than Big 10 crazy) the drinks are always on special and the abundance of TV access attracts the center city folk in droves.

Misconduct Tavern
Aside from having some of the best Mac 'N Cheese we've seen, Misconduct also has a huge selection of drinks (we love the hot apple cider) and huge, viewable-from-anywhere televisions over the bar. Grab a table to ensure you won't lose your coveted spots by the TV screen--the bar gets packed on Sundays.

McFadden's Ballpark
Is this even a question? Hands down one of the best spots to catch sports outside of the stadium, McFadden's Ballpark makes you feel a little closer to the action-- even when the Eagles aren't in the game.

Drinker's West
The UCity version of the Center City favorite, Drinker's West packs more gameday punch with big TV's and more space for all of those post-TD high fives. With a daily $2.50 Bud Light draft special, it's arguably one of the best spots to catch the game--and save some of that money for those post-season Phils tickets you've been budgeting for.

South Philly Bar & Grill
With a state of the art sound system and HDTVs to boot, SPB&G is the spot to watch all of the major league games--simultaneously. Get there early for a good spot, then stay late to revel in the fan-loving atmosphere at this undeniably Philadelphia-esque spot.

Field House
With enough space to contain you and hundreds of your closest friends, Field House has long been on our list of places you can catch a game without getting shuffled around covered in beer every time there's a point-scoring drive. With more than 50 HDTVs and four different sound zones, you can catch the Birds game while keeping tabs on whichever fantasy players you have on the roster for those "other" Sunday games. Tip: contact tadams@publichouseusa.com to add your name to their team fan page and earn weekly specials.
