Despite the Eagles' plummeting status in the city of Philadelphia, there’s something great (and decidedly therapeutic) about Super Bowl Sunday. When else can you spend the day in front of the TV, beer-in-hand, laughing at those multi-million dollar commercials with little to no grief from your HGTV-loving girlfriend? Whether you're rooting for the Colts or the Saints (we so called that, by the way), here's hoping you'll find sweet relief at one of our picks for the big game.
BAR HOT SPOTS
Chickie’s & Pete’s If you're one of those people who can't seem to regulate spending once the third quarter (or your sixth round of drinks) rolls around, try booking one of C&P's all-inclusive game day packages. You'll score a table, drink package and jam-packed food menu for under $50 per person. For those of us who are a little more disciplined (or not concerned about finding an open table), head down for $2 Bud Light aluminum bottles and a ton of freaking crab fries.
Fox and Hound Nothing goes better with beer and football than a giant platter of Buffalo wings. Head to Fox and Hound for buy one, get one wing buckets, along with $16 Bud family buckets, and $3 Bud Light drafts from 11am – Midnight. No matter how early or late you’re looking to start the festivities, you’ll certainly get your fill here.
Mad River Manayunk Avoid the city traffic and head down to Main Street for Mad River's Ultimate Super Bowl bash. We're talking complimentary wings, $3 Bud and Bud Light drafts and a halftime wing-eating contest. Attendees will also have a chance to score a DeSean Jackson jersey; make your reservations in advance to ensure full-access to the festivities and an up-close view of their 50" flat screen TVs (or even better, the 27" screens inside every booth). Email madrivermanayunk@gmail.com to make your reservations.

Whiskey Tango Forgo the predictably overpriced tab for an open bar bash at Whiskey Tango. For just $30 (or $25 in advance), you’ll score a four-hour top shelf open bar, dinner buffet and a view of the game on all 21 50" flat screen TVs, plus the massive eight footer at the side bar.
Flip & Baileys Arguably one of the better match-ups in Super Bowl history, locals will be headed to Flip & Baileys to watch Brees and the New Orleans Saints take on Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Enjoy $2 Bud Light drafts, $16 Supertubes, $5 nachos, 25-cent wings and a stunning view of the game on one of 17 TVs, including the 100" projection screen.
